Hi Andy,
We are counting the days until your arrival. Hope you are excited as we are.
Informal English classes have begun on the spur of the moment with pre-school and Junior High age students. They are eating it up.
Just some background. The Education program here teaches in the major regional language Grade 1 - 7. This does include English Education. At 7th Grade all the education is done in English, including textbooks and exams. As you can imagine, English is in HIGH DEMAND.
The Library/Study Room is furnished, and we have acquired a fair selection of the kids' textbooks, and a number of supplementary English teaching aids. I will try to have an overhead projector by the time you arrive, as well as a television and VCR.
As you will be arriving on Monday morning and beginning to teach 24 hours later, there is not a whole lot of time to coordinate what you need once you are here. So we are trying to get ahead on some stuff. Since I last asked (and you answered), is there anything else that comes to mind as being helpful for your teaching?
At the same time it would be extremely benificial if you bring just about anything you can as far as teaching aids go.
Praying for you. Let me know how we can be prepared for you.
Together in His Service,
Chris Plante
